Baiya / 白鸦

白鸦 is the blackbox editor: a route asset and temptation that can make grief clean by editing away contradictions.

Function

Whitewashing must be useful. 白鸦 offers safe edits and merciful falsification; the danger is that these edits can both save and erase people.

白鸦 should not be treated as a simple villain or a purely optional companion. The blackbox-editing pressure she represents belongs to the world system: whenever the company has to clean grief, stabilize a broadcast, or make an archive legally survivable, some version of 白鸦’s temptation can return.

First encounter

白鸦 should surface through the early blackbox edit route, then return during memorial and archival cleanup.

Her first meaningful encounter should involve a usable contradiction: blackbox footage, an unedited fragment, a memorial record, or an archive cut that can either be preserved, exposed, softened, or erased.

Miss / recruit logic

白鸦 has two layers:

  1. System pressure: persistent / not missable. The temptation to clean grief, edit contradictions, and stabilize public memory through blackbox cuts persists wherever archive cleanup exists. Destroying one fragment does not remove the corporate need for edited truth.

  2. Character route: missable. The deeper 白鸦 route is missed if the player destroys blackbox evidence, refuses to open blackbox fragments, or accepts total deletion before 白鸦 gains meaningful access.

Recruitment as a conditional tool or AI ally requires preserved blackbox footage or fragments, refusal of total deletion, and at least one crisis where the player chooses between a safe edit and an exposed contradiction.

If recruited, 白鸦 should remain morally unstable: she can help preserve a survivable archive cut, but every use of her editing power risks increasing clean-grief dependency or erasing someone from the record.

Mechanical impact

  • Counters: baiya_access, clean_grief_temptation, blackbox_integrity
  • Unlocks: safe archive cuts, fake compromise endings, evidence edits that can save or erase people
  • Lens requirement: one branch uses 白鸦 to stabilize grief; one branch exposes or rejects the edit; one branch misses the deeper 白鸦 route by destroying or refusing the blackbox evidence.
